Ermmm…yeah.

im still alive. Should have kept this more updated bc after all im paying for this but yeah, life just kinda happened to get in the way.

so what happened since July??

honestly everything is such a blur haha i dont really remember lol

i remember doing quite a bit of service and i worked another weekend at patterson (which, incidentally was the same weekend of the east rutherford international convention here in jersey but guess what?!? , i got to listen to pretty much all of sat and sun because they streamed the whole program to the infirmary so the elderly friends could listen!!! Omg it was such a nice treat!!)

and thats when i saw kb again, honestly i didnt even find him the least bit attractive while i worked with him the last time but eh i dont know something about seeing him a suit and bam! My hearts all a flutter lol gosh i am so easy sometimes and impossibly hard at other times, i mean make up your mind woman!!

but like i said there is something about a well dressed man with HAIR lol shining a brilliant gold in the last waning rays of sun, just slightly bronzed from sitting out in the sun all day. Hmm…

and then to see him again with wonderful aviators on, my goodness do i love me a well dressed man!!

eh hem.

anyways. But i go home because the koreans, bro ms guests from korea that were staying at our house because the c and m families decided to burn a candle at both ends and somehow ended up inviting like 15 people to stay at their home AT THE SAME TIME!!! Like really, are u even thinking!?!?!

Well anyways, im dreading it because the c and m families have been hyping up their visit for weeks now like were obliged to them for sending their guests, mind you, to our home for like NINE days because they have a single son who happens to be really old fyi like mid thirties oh gross, but anyways my parents are kinda sorta excited too so i dont want to anger them or come across as rude so yeah. You get the picture, it was super awkward…..

anyways i get home and omg theyre not even home ahahahaha but hmph, they come home soon enough and omg really!?!? I mean they said he was cute but i had my expectations really low because you know koreans always like to hype things up but seriously!?!?

This guy looked old enough to be my uncle lol and im not even that young anymore so you can probably put two and two together lol but i tried to brave it and suck it up and actually be nice even though the thought of even holding/shaking this guys hand is like making my toes seriously curl lol i mean can i help it if i amso totally not attracted to him??

I mean i dont know what it is about koreans and why i have such an adversion to him but i tried to make my parents happy and lo and behold!!

well anyways so theyre not even our guests but then c and m wants us to take them around and were like wth? I mean u invited them from korea shouldnt u pay atleast some attention to them??

so yeah we were pretty upset with the c and m. I mean i had to call to set up their met bible tour, like what is that seriously!?! I mean they already reserved 9 spots on the tour for their family hut what!?! You cant even be bothered to reserve a spot for three more people ?!?

Ridiculous.

so anyways. They leave and i kinda feel bad because their trip was really kinda boring and they are really such sweet people just i didnt want to marry him in the least bit because honestly lets be real thats creepy and they started a whole other fight with my parents but ehh dont really want to talk about it hopefully now though my parents wil, get the idea and stop trying to get me to date these fobs i mean i dont even like korean americans what makes u think id like one straight from the motherland omg

like i like asian guys just not when theyre straight from korea and i always said if i do marry a korean hes not going to speak a lick of korean thats how much of an aversion i have.

(this aversion i think comes from when i was little and super into kp and into korean guys and i was like in love with this super fob because thats what i thought was cool back when i was like ten and this guy looked like kangta lolol how could i resist?? But then i got into super trouble by my parents for liking someone when i was still so young so since that guy i havent liked a korean guy since . True story)

but then i also had x and w m frompatterson over for their spanish guoji dahui and that was fun!!

and then…hmm…

oh yes! Mltss went live on july 1, tuesday so ive been pretty preoccupied with work. Let me tell you it is a lot of work and im spending almost 12 hours everyday but they say these first few months will be the hardest and then easy peasy so hopefully theyre right because last weekend, the fourth of july weekend was our chinese regional convention and omg it was just so amazing i loved every moment of it and now im totally psyched to just move to a place where the need is greater and just do service all day everyday!!!

sounds like the life! And also the school for kingdom evangelizers omg single sisters can be invited to it as well so i really, really want to go!!!!!!!

and i pretty much fit the bill for the requirements!!

i will devote another pist to the convention but now im tired.

i must have gotten a cold fro. The assembly hall, i remember my friend j.dg was also having a sore throat on the last day of convention and i havent been feeling well at all since sat but yeah, i actually had to stay home because i had a fever and a sore throat and im sneezing and my nose is incredibly stuffed…….

meh.

being sick sucks.

and all the ac ive been getting is definitely not helping but ah wells.

So this happened like 2 months ago but I feel I should post this up 🙂

Well, 2 months ago, before I was due to start my new job on the 7th, my sisters and I decided to go to NYC on a totally random excursion.

Like super totally random haha

So pretty much, we started our day with the Donut Pub for their $1 donuts which were awesome!! We had a whole bunch, like their honey glazed, boston creme, jelly, old fashioned, chocolate cake-pretty much everything that came recommended on their YELP reviews.

So good, moist, chewy, and most of all, so cheap! I mean, as much as I love the Doughnut Plant, $4 for a donut is kinda ridiculous (although totally called for if seriously craving their tres leches donut or their PB&J one-so, so GOOD!!)

Then, we decided to go to SOHO to check out the new Balenciaga store.

Let me tell you, they did not disappoint.

I was totally set on not buying anything but OMG they had the limited edition Mini City in black with the gold trim-I know there’s a name for it lol but it’s evading me atm- and OMG I wanted it so, so much. It was everything I wanted in a bag, a mini version of my most fav Balenciaga city in super luxe black chevre leather accented with the most blindingly shiny gold hardware-OMGOMGOMG I WANT!

Also, they had the new Moto jackets in this beautiful mauve pink color, OMG in MY SIZE!! OMGOMGOMG! Why, Balenciaga, WHY?!?

I totally oogled them both for about 30 minutes, and if it wasn’t for my sister J that went in with me, I would have totally swiped the AMEX, SWIPE, SWIPE, SWIPE!!

But she was totally not having it, esp. since I’d just got the giant Chanel quilted boy-I love her so much!!!

SO we ended up just walking out. 🙁

To comfort/reward myself for walking out empty handed from Balenciaga (a feat, I must say) we headed over to Anna Sui where I proceeded to drop $250-ish on various goodies, mostly makeup, including a “bribe” lol for my mom which is a super beautiful spf/pa++ translucent powder in a collectible white ornate case.

Eh, well, had I bought the goodies from Bal, it would have been $4k so there.

So then we walk over to St. Marks place to get lunch at Panna II, Indian, which is my sisters’ fav , + they have an explosion of colorful lights which is what J is in love with so we had to have lunch there.

Ta-da! LIGHTS!!

ermm yeah, sorry, no pics of the food, which BTW was good but not the best Indian I’ve ever had. But hey! The ambiance can’t be beat! 🙂 And as a ++ it was totally empty, which was fabulous since the restaurant is so, so tiny.

Then we walked past a giant explosion of color:

Then, for some reason, we decided to go to Central Park.

They surprised me with them for getting a job because they are like seriously the best sisters in the world, like really, a gift for getting a job?! They’re awesome, I can’t live without them! ♥

(True story: I fell completely in love with them randomly at the airport’s duty free when we were going to the DR last december, which totally surprised even me bc I’ve always said Prada was overrated and a waste of money and I would never ever wear Prada and lo and behold! these sunnies totally took over my feels and I had to have them and I was like obsessed with them for 4 months and then when I finally got a job and was able to afford them, SURPRISE! My sisters got them for me. ♥)

And then, we were super tired.

SO we just had ramen at Setagaya Ramen and went home.

But yeah, it was awesome! Can’t wait to hang out with the sisters again soon! 😉

Well, well.

It turns out I’m back at the store today on a beautiful, perfect-for-service Sunday. What else is new?

The past week was so, so hectic it was unbelievable. Like totally BUSY.

1. I went to Trenton ALL WEEK for training which was totally not fun. But very informative so I can’t really complain, at least now I know what I’m doing lol

2. Korean C/O visit this week which means my family was busy as it was w/o:

3. Grandma had her TKR this week and ended up with a reaction (dare I say allergic?) to the anesthetic and ended up feeling ill and staying in the hospital for longer than expected

4. A very dear sister in the Korean Abbott Congregation passed away 🙁 and her wake was held Saturday morning at 11AM (she opted to be cremated so no burial)

5. The Korean Bethelites had no where to stay so they ended up staying over at our place last minute

Wow.

That’s quite a list!!

And to add to all these events, Sultana “voluntarily resigned” as per my sister who left a vitriolic VM on her cell and we haven’t heard back from her since so the family has been pretty much taking turns coming to the store to cover the cashier.

My, my. At least the CO visit will end today, Grandma is feeling better and I no longer have to go to Trenton.

And hopefully no more deaths.

Man, its been a very sad last couple of weeks, what with 3 deaths of people I cared about, all due to some form of cancer or other which is terrifying quite frankly.

Cancer is one of those things that is still not very treatable if not caught in time. I mean, yeah there is surgery and chemo and radiation but really, all it really serves to do is prolong the death in a very painful way and the patient wastes away until you can’t really say they’re alive, all bones and skin and pain, most of the time they aren’t even conscious from being all drugged up. 🙁

But the alternative, death, is horrible too, and the family most of the time has such a hard time letting go. It’s heartbreaking, really, but until the new system, what can we do?

That’s why it’s imperative that people screen for cancers regularly and catch it before it metastasizes (which means it spreads to other parts of the body and evolves until the cells aren’t even recognizable). Some cancers are easier to check for than others, i.e, regular breast self examinations for ladies and mole/skin checks for everyone else. Others, like colon/stomach, you have to undergo endoscopic procedures which, while unpleasant, will be able to catch most polyps before they turn into cancerous tumors (easily tx with extractions right during the endoscopy and sent straight a ways for a biopsy).

And of course, educate yourselves about the s/s of major cancers, i.e, if you see blood in your stool or black, tarry stools that can indicate colon/rectal cancers, persistant dry cough can indicate lung cancer, sudden weight loss is a s/s of almost all cancers.

Seriously, it can save your life.

And while others really can’t be screened or treated early like pancreatic or brain cancers, it does help to increase your chances by a lot.

So that’s pretty much my spiel for today lol

On a much happier note, today I was able to do service with the J’s who are expecting baby M! I’m super excited for them, can’t wait for M to arrive. We were talking about having a scavenger hunt baby shower which sounds amazingly fun, like have people bring baby carrots, baby spinach, take a photo of a grown person with a bib…etc. And then we can all converge at one place and party which is pretty much what Towaco Mandarin Chinese excels at :0

But then again, getting a date where relatively most people can come is key esp with the conventions starting this month and people going away and what not. Hmmm…

Oh and S and D were engaged Monday at the NYC Public Library at the Children’s exhibit because that’s totally them and so cute and aww, the ring even looks like S, small and petite and super conservative 🙂

And that pretty much sums up my week. Heh, I got so fat this week, what with eating out for lunch every day and kale/carrot smoothies and David’s Cookies peanut butter cookies and eating out pretty much all weekend for the CO visit and going to the store-argh totally gained like 10 lbs which I worked so hard to lose.

Meh, that just means I will have to super detox this week and start exercising again which is a challenge because really, who wants to be working out in 90 degree weather?
